Travel Italian Style was created because our founder had the wonderful opportunity and the means to step on a plane to Italy for the very first time in 2006. It was an amazing experience that changed her life.
However, not everyone is this fortunate--but we knew there was a way to help. This is what led us to become a proud partner of FLYTE (Foundation for Learning and Youth Travel Education).

What is FLYTE?
FLYTE is a nonprofit organization that helps with the logistical support and funding for teachers looking to provide cultural context for what they teach. The organization hopes to create young leaders by helping them experience other areas of the world and become global citizens.
FLYTE was co-founded by Matthew Kepnes, also known in the travel world as Nomadic Matt, in 2015.
An intrepid globetrotter, blogger, and the New York Times Bestselling author of How to Travel the World on $50 a Day: Travel Cheaper, Longer, Smarter.
Carmela became FLYTE’s second Executive Director in 2018 after serving on the Board of Directors since the organization’s founding.
She has spent much of her professional career working within the education, child welfare, and youth development sectors where she led the implementation of large-scale initiatives, wrote grants, evaluated programs, managed the operations of various programs and built successful collaborative partnerships.

The money donated will go directly towards paying for a students’ airfare, meals, school books, ground transportation, and accommodations when they abroad.
